Buckeye Lake Dam Report

A report released Wednesday from the US Army Corp of Engineers says there’s a likelihood of a catastrophic failure of the 177 year-old Buckeye Lake Dam. The report, which was requested by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, says the safest solution for eliminating the risk of flooding due to dam failure is to drain the lake permanently.

Break Away Ice Destroying Docks

Rising temperatures have caused some of the ice that had been jammed in the Muskingum River to break free, and as it makes its way down the river, it’s tearing up docks and trees along the way. This year, the lower water level is adding to the problem as docks are being crushed between ice and the banks.

Muskingum County Sheriff’s Most Wanted Suspects

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Offices most wanted suspects for this week are Anthony Everett Boyd-Coleman and Ken O’Brian Gatlin the II. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff office at (740) 452-3637 ext. 1.

Zanesville Man Indicted on Human Trafficking Charges

Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says Zanesville man, 32-year-old Derek Jamison of 2810 East Pike, has been indicted on human trafficking charges. Haddox says Jamison is already in custody in the Muskingum County Jail awaiting sentencing on both trafficking and possession of drug charges.

Jeffery Stewart Pleads Not Guilty

Twenty-one-year-old Jeffery Stewart, one of two men charged with aggravated murder in the robbery and slaying of an elderly couple, plead not guilty in Coshocton Wednesday. Stewart and 29-year-old Robert Clark are accused of abducting and killing 88-year-old Doyle Chumney and his 79-year-old wife, Lillian.
