MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – Muskingum County voters have several issues to decide on in Tuesday’s primary election. The Center for Seniors has a bond issue up, voters in the Village of Philo can decide on a levy for current expenses. In the Village of Dresden, there is a natural gas aggregation issue, and in Jackson Township there is an issue for cemetery operation costs.
Four Women Sentenced in Assisted Living Theft
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – According to the Muskingum County Prosecutors Office, 46-year-old Patricia Thomas of Zanesville, her daughter, 22-year old Karly Thomas, 51-year-old Carla Norman and 54-year-old Teresa Alfman of Zanesville, were sentenced Monday. There sentences are in connection with thefts from residents at from Emeritus at North Hills.
New Lexington Council Discusses Controversial Cuts
NEW LEXINGTON, OHIO (WHIZ) – At the Village of New Lexington’s first council meeting of May a controversial issue regarding the Village Fire and EMS departments was discussed. According to President of New Lexington Council, Trent R. Thompson , many have negative feelings about the cuts and the contracted use of Portsmouth Ambulance Service.
Execution Date Set
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – The man convicted of the 1984 shooting death of Guernsey County woman, 54-year-old Mary Jane Stout, has his execution date set. The Ohio Supreme Court says John Stumpf is scheduled to die January 3, 2018.
Mid-East Career and Technology Centers New Superintendent
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Mid East Career and Technology Centers will soon have a new district superintendent, Dr. Richard Hall. Dr. Hall will begin as superintendent at Mid-East on August 1st of this year.
