WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Washington Township Fire Department hosted it’s 47th Annual Mothers Day Dinner Sunday. According to Fire Chief Gene Hanning all of the money raised goes towards the operation of the department and the purchasing of equipment.
First Baptist Church’s New Location
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – During a special service Sunday, the First Baptist Church moved from it’s church grounds on South 6th Street to it’s new location at 80 E. Main street in South Zanesville. The church is celebrating its 194th anniversary next month.

Fatal Crash in Licking County
LICKING COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – A man has died after the motor home he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a pole in Licking County. The state highway patrol says 81-year-old Richard H. Rodriguez was taken to a hospital where he died after the crash that occurred around 9:30 Sunday morning in Harrison Township.
Fewer Students Enrolling in Humanities
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – Federal data show fewer students enrolling in humanities majors at Ohio colleges amid the increased popularity of science and business programs. The number of humanities degrees granted by all of colleges in Ohio fell by 15 percent over the past five years.
