The New Lexington girls soccer team got their first sectional win in school history on Monday. They’ll now advance to play at number one seed Rock Hill on Wednesday.

BOYS SOCCER:

PHILO: 3 CARROLLTON: 0

The Electrics Heath Goodwin, Kaidin Harmon and Gage Wickham each scored a goal in the victory. Hunter Wallace made two saves in net.

Philo will now play Thursday at River View at 6:30pm.

TRI-VALLEY: 6 HARRISON CENTRAL: 7

It took two over-times and penalty kicks to decide a sectional match-up between Harrison Central and Tri-Valley. The game was tied 0-0 at the halfway mark.

The Scotties would get on the board first with 29:48 left in the second half to make it 1-0. The game would get knotted up a 2-2 forcing two scoreless overtimes, before the game was decided on penalty kicks.

Harrison Central moves on to play second seed Dover on Saturday at 11:00am.

HEATH: 8 MARION-FRANKLIN: 0

The Heath Bulldogs defeated Marion-Franklin to advance in DII tournament play. The 18th seed Bulldogs now travel to number two seed Bishop Watterson. That game will take place Wednesday at 5pm.
