ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Transportation Improvement District has brought almost $19 Million worth of grants and loans into the community.

A meeting took place on Wednesday, May 22nd that included talks of current and future projects in the area. Executive Director of the Muskingum County Port Authority Matt Abbott said they are getting closer to completing a couple projects.

“Eastpointe Business Park, we had a slip thats been there for quite some time. Tried to do some repairs and finally we’re getting to a point where we hope to close that project out. Get that reopened and move forward with that,” Abbott said.

They were awarded $243,000 to work on the National Road Business Park and they are hoping to begin working on that project soon. Abbott said they are looking forward to the potential projects that could help enhance local business climate.

“This is a cooperative effort between the city of Zanesville and Muskingum County so we are always looking out to, in the future, to identify projects and when those projects will come up,” Abbott said. “Northpointe project paving from 60 to 60, Maple Avenue to Dresden will be hopefully ongoing here soon.”

Abbott said they are looking at new capital investment, creating new jobs and payroll numbers. The Transportation Improvement District is continuing to work on programs that can bring business into Muskingum County.
