Two Men Indicted by Perry County Grand Jury

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday the recent indictments of two men by a Perry County grand jury.
Sheriff William Barker says 54-year-old Christopher Reedy was indicted on one count of illegal manufacturing of drugs , one count of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacturing of drugs and one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs. All three charges carry a forfeiture specification.
The charges stem from two incidents. The first in January 2016, when deputies were dispatched to a home on Honey Creek Road in Thornville where Reedy was staying. Authorities say during the search of the home deputies located meth and meth making materials inside the residence as well as meth making materials in a trash can on the property.
The second incident occurred in May, when authorities say Reedy sold meth to agents with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force at a Circle K gas station on State Route 13 in Thornville.
If convicted on all counts, Reedy faces up to 10 years in prison.
A Perry County grand jury also indicted 26-year-old Troy Harris of Newark.
Harris was indicted on one count of failure to comply with the order/signal of a police officer and one count of endangering children.
On June 19th, authorities say a Perry County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Harris on Rushcreek Road in Reading Township.
Authorities say Harris failed to comply with the deputies signal and led law enforcement on a high speed chase with speeds exceeding 110 miles per hour.
The chase ended in the backyard of a residence on Highpoint Road where Harris was taken into custody.
During the chase, deputies discovered that Harris had his girlfriend and their one-year-old child in the car.
Harris is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Perry County Common Pleas Court.
