United Way Extends Funding Cycle

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio-The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties is extending its current funding cycle.
The cycle is meant to benefit local nonprofit organizations to fund their projects with budgets over $5000. Executive Director Meg Deedrick has more information.
“As the pandemic started, and we started to feel the effects of it, we knew this year was going to be unlike any other and we needed to respond to community needs unlike any other response we’ve done. One of the ways we’re doing that is to have multiple funding cycles. We extended the previous funding cycle for our existing partners so that we could be sure that those services could be provided throughout the year.”
To qualify for the funding a nonprofit has to have a project dealing in health, education or community and related directly indirectly or directly to the pandemic. The process to find out if an organization qualifies is an easy one.
“Anybody who’s interested in learning more about it, just go to our Facebook page, United Way of MPM Facebook page, and the application is linked to our Facebook site. So they could just go on that, see if they meet one of the goals that we have for the community, which is part of the application.”
