ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan Counties is planning to relocate after 26 years at their current location on Putnam Avenue.

Executive Director Meg Deedrick explained that Covid changed the way the organization operated by forcing them to refine their procedures and become more efficient, allowing them to shrink their footprint and stretch funds further.

“It is a full relocation and we expect to be moved in the Summer of 2022. We needed to select that sweet spot between our investment cycle and our campaign cycle. So we wanted to coordinate that, with what works best with our new landlords, Grace United Methodist Church,” Deedrick said.

The two organizations were looking for partnerships to strengthen their community outreach and are excited in co-locating to help support their compatible missions.

Grace United Methodist Church Pastor Karen Montgomery announced why the church decided to partner with the United Way.

“It just broadens our scope and opens up doors for us to have more impact,” Montgomery said. “We believe that God has given us all resources. I have resources, you have resources, the church has resources. We have this beautiful building with nearly 35,000 square feet and a beautiful location, and to us that’s a resource that we can share.”

The United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan counties as well as Grace United Methodist will maintain their individual organizational and legal structures and none of their current community services will be disrupted.
