ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Veterans Council is hosting the Annual Veterans Day Parade this weekend.

The parade will start Saturday, November 10th at 10 a.m. and will take place downtown. Captain Scott Comstock, with the Zanesville Police Department, said there will be some road closures and detours to look out for.

“It’s going to be running a route from Secrest Auditorium. They’re going to go East on Shinnick to 6th Street. South on 6th to Main and then West on Main across the front of the Courthouse back to 3rd Street,” Comstock said.

There were a variety of 107 entries, from local Law Enforcement, Fire, and Safety to American Legion and VFW floats. Parking will be all around downtown outside of the parade area.

“There’s going to be barricades with certain road closures so we just would advise everybody to come in advance. A little before the parade,” Comstock said.

They will start setting up the parade around 8:30 in the morning. There’s going to be a road closure for the 5th Street exit ramp until noon and they will provide detours for those who find themselves driving downtown.
