Veteran’s Day parade: ‘It’s been our honor to serve’

Veteran's Day Parade

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Hundreds of veterans lined the streets of downtown Zanesville for the Veteran’s Day parade.

One local veteran, Bud Johnson says vets everywhere should be thanked and honored for our safety and freedom.

“The freedom that you’re — living in right now would not be here if it wasn’t for the veterans. I mean, how did you get around that? This — it’s all about the freedom. We that served — the veterans that served — we don’t want to see our kids and our families — grow up under somebody who’s gonna behead ’em if they bark wrong. It’s all about freedom and keeping our country safe and free.”

Another vet, Ron Gottke, says this parade and events like these help them continue to give back to our country.

“It’s been our honor to serve our country and we like to honor the community also.”

Join WHIZ Sunday night at 11 as we continue to celebrate our veterans.
