“Wait Until Dark” at the Renner Theater
The latest performance at the Renner theater is going on for one more weekend.
The Zane Trace Players performed "Wait Until Dark" for the third time this afternoon. The drama is set in 1967 and it has a suspenseful feel to it. The show’s director, George Patterson, said the show fits perfectly into the Autumn season. He said while they haven’t had a sellout yet, he is still thrilled to see the support from the community.
"The last two nights the audience has been really good, and it’s been really encouraging to see how engrossed they get in the show as well as how wrapped up they are in some of those suspenseful moments," Patterson said.
The first time director said making the show suspenseful and actually having the crowd jump back in their seats is very rewarding.
"When you try to build a certain moment where you have your characters in peril or they’re in some kind of danger, and then when that danger comes up to have the audience physically react, which we’ve had actually," Patterson said. "There’s nothing more fulfilling, as a director and a storyteller, than to get the audience involved like that."
If you missed this weekend’s shows it will be on again next Friday Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
