We Lov Pets and Animal Shelter Society Launch New Initiative

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As cold weather sets in and families gather to
celebrate the holiday season, two area organizations are partnering
to help give animals a loving home. The Animal Shelter Society and We
Lov Pets are launching a new initiative called Thankful for Second
Chances; just in time for the holidays. Miranda Cartwright, Manager
of We Lov Pets, says the store is excited to team up with the
shelter.
“We’re really
excited to be on board with it. I think we’re able to help kind of
be the voice for those animals that do need adopted and need homes.
So, we’re excited to kind of get the word out there for those pets
that need a home.”
Thankful for Second
Chances encourages people to adopt a pet from the Animal Shelter
Society and also collects donations at We Lov Pets to be used by the
shelter.
“If they donate at
We Lov Pets, they do get a discount—everything that they plan on
giving to the shelter. And, we do have a big bin there up front by
the register and we do have a list that the shelter provides of
everything they might need at the shelter. Thing like paper towels or
sanitary things to kind of keep the shelter clean too.”
On average, the
Animal Shelter Society takes in 190 animals per month. The adoption
rate through September of this year is 93.1 percent.
