White Sox pitcher and Newark grad gives support to Lady Wildcats

PHOENIX – Count Chicago White Sox pitcher and Newark grad Derek Holland among those giving their support to the Newark Lady Wildcats.

Holland took to Instagram to give a shoutout to his alma mater’s basketball team who will be playing in the state semi-finals Friday night. The Lady Wildcats are undefeated and will take on Notre Dame Academy at the Schottenstein Center with the winner going to the state title game.

Holland is a Newark native and graduated from Newark High School. He’s played in the MLB since 2009 with both the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox.
