Woman Identified in Crooksville Shooting.
CROOKSVILLE, Ohio – The woman who was shot in a Crooksville convenience store over the weekend has been identified as Amanda Wisecarver. Perry County Sheriff William Barker says that the injuries sustained to Wisecarver are not life-threatening.
At approximately 7:15 p.m. Sunday night the Perry County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an armed robbery at the Southside Carryout at 5200 Ceramic Road in the village of Crooksville. The suspect shot Wisecarver in the left leg, took an undisclosed amount of money, and fled the scene. Sheriff Barker says as of now they have few details on the suspect.
“He’s just a young man, basically that’s all we have at this point, a young male,†said Sheriff Barker. “Not very tall, not really a big fella. That’s pretty much what information we are putting out that we have available.â€
Sheriff Barker said they are putting together security camera footage to see if the suspect fled in a vehicle or on foot. Wisecarver was taken to Genesis. Sheriff Barker said that this was Wisecarver’s first week on the job at the store.
“Last night when I called at the hospital and checked with the deputies I had there, there were no life-threatening injuries. The bullet appeared to be an entry and exit wound that struck nothing but muscle. There were no bone or arteries that were damaged from the projectile,†said Sheriff Barker.
Sheriff Barker could not recall the last time there was a shooting in Crooksville, but said it has been ‘a while.’ The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone will information about the crime to contact them at (740) 342-4123.
