YMCA and BBBS Partner

Unnamed

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The YMCA and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville have teamed up for National Mentorship Month.

The partnership was a result of an existing relationship between executive directors Jeremy Byers and Katie Mainini. Byers tells us about what the partnership offers.

“She came up and talked and we talked about having some programs that’s gonna involve bigs and littles. Our association branches, Licking and Western, also do this program where a big and a little can both get a membership for the Y. It’s free for them, there’s no charge. That’s one of the things we’re looking to do.”, Byers said of the partnership.

Bigs and Littles just need to apply at the YMCA. There are many different thighs the YMCA offers for both young and old.

“They can take part in classes. Ages eight to twelve can be upstairs. We have a variety of different classes and programs that we offer. We have TaeKwonDo and Karate and many other things that we offer. Once they’re a member they have full access just like any other member.”, Byers continued.

The memberships will last as long as the bigs and littles are members of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
