SARAHSVILLE, Ohio – When you lose your entire starting lineup to graduation, you’re bound to have some growing pains.

The Rosecrans boys opened the hoops season up on the road against Shenandoah on Thursday night. It’s a Rosecrans team that was in the district semi-finals last season, but lost almost all of the key contributors from that group.

The Bishops failed to score a field goal in the first quarter and trailed the Zeps by nine at halftime. They were able to cut the deficit to three points at the end of the third quarter. But down the stretch Shenandoah pulled away to win 49-39.

Matt Applegate posted a double-double in the loss. He put up 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Up next for the Bishops is a road game on Tuesday against Maysville.
