Z.A.A.P Gallery Announced Raymond and Mary Ramos as Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Z.A.A.P selects the husband and wife duo, Raymond and Mary Ramos, as their artist of the December month.
Ramos said how his artwork isn’t focused on one thig, but what he sees in his everyday life or what inspires him.
“I use a bunch of different mediums pretty much anything I can make art out of. I started out of with acrylic and then kin of got into oil a little bit and then ceramics and just keeps on going,” Ramos said. “Just things I pass by everyday and over the years I never really payed attention to and then one day I drive by it and realize how much I’ve missed over the years and that’s usually what I paint.”
Raymond Ramos’s wife, Mary, wasn’t in attendance to speak on about her artwork, but Raymond Ramos did talk about how she’s always always been into fabric and found her way into textile work.
“Between me and her, there isn’t really a competition. If she’s working, I’m working or vice versa, we keep each other going and community wise, it’s amazing,” Ramos stated. “It’s been an amazing little road and I love sharing it with the community.”
Ramos said throughout his five to six years being a part of Z.A.A.P, he has experience an awesome group of people. He encourages any young kid who is interested in art to begin their with Z.A.A.P.
