Z.A.A.P names Kathleen Jenkins artist of the month

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project’s featured artist of the month this month is Kathleen Jenkins.
Jenkins is known for her ink drawings of local landscapes. She said each of the drawings takes her roughly a week, because she likes to draw slow and precise and add things as she goes. Jenkins’ inspiration for art came from her mother, the two used to go downtown for lessons together.
“I still have a lot of her beautiful pieces and she liked to do floral things. I am inspired by my mother I think, and I have a sister Linda who also caught that inspiration,” said Jenkins.
Jenkins work will also be presented at a silent auction on the 21st at the Zanesville Country Club, and at the “Art in the Garden” event on June 23rd. For access to both events the cost is $60, or you can go to the Art in the Garden event for $15.
“We have always had these events in June, and the live and silent auction is June the 21st during the evening and the garden tour is June 23rd from 11 o’ clock in the morning until five in the afternoon,” Jenkins added.
You can also see Kathleen Jenkins work tomorrow at the Z.A.A.P building for First Friday Art Walk. If you are interested in purchasing some of Jenkins work, she asks you to speak with her tomorrow at the art walk.
