Z.D.G.A Golf Show benefits Students

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville District Golf Association is holding their annual Z.D.G.A. Golf Show tomorrow February 4, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in the big tent behind the Eagle Sticks club house.
This event will feature new equipment, fitting of equipment, and Practice swinging. However that’s not all, Z.D.G.A. Board Member, Scott Griffiths said the donations raised on February 4, 2017 will go towards an event at Vista Golf Coarse and Zanesville Jaycees in June 2017.
“All the money raised at the golf show tomorrow, we put into a fund,” Griffiths said. “In June We have a Junior Amateur Tournament and the kids that win that tournament we give them, it’s around $5,000 that we’ll give away in scholarship money.”
The amateur tournament will feature students 18 and younger and Griffiths said these students are some of the best junior golfers in the Muskingum County Area. These students chosen for the scholarships will put the money towards their college careers.
“They’ve benefited from this, Z.D.G.A,” Griffiths said. “We’ve been around for 40 years now this is our 40 Anniversary. So over the years we’ve given away thousands and thousands of dollars to local deserving kids.”
Griffiths said Z.D.G.A takes great pride in what they do in giving back to the community by providing for the future generations.
The Z.D.G.A scholarships are benefiting students from the following schools John Glenn High School, New Lexington High School, Maysville High School, Zanesville High School, Morgan High School, Philo High School.
Dylan Van Fossen, Lexi Bubenchik, Brayden Metzger, Tyler Brown, Caleb Barnett, Makyla Lewellen, Joslyn Goins, Coan Hopkins, Liam Blake, Logan Jarrett are the students receiving the funds raised in the Z.D.G.A. Golf Show.
