ZANESVILLE, Oh – The Zanesville Appalachian Art Project artist of the month has been named.

Zanesville native, Raymond Ramos was selected as the featured artist at the ZAAP Gallery of the month for December.

Born and raised right here in the city, Ramos has had a passion for art since childhood, frequently making art with his father.

Today, he mainly works in oils, clay and acrylics but experiments with other media as well, creating stunning pop impressionistic pieces that are sure to catch your attention.

“Almost any medium he will try. He loves art of all kinds.

Raymond Ramos is a popular artist in Zanesville and he is generous with his art and his work. And we just love him here,” ZAAP Gallery Treasurer RoseMary Ludt said.

Ramos draws inspiration for his unique works through his belief in art being more powerful when being used for good and uses his talents to give back.

When he’s not creating, Ramos can be found serving and teaching throughout the area and enjoys being a part of the local and art communities.

“He’s a really good member of ZAAP and interested in participating in our activities and his art is just wonderful to see.

We’re just really proud that he’s showing here,” Ludt added.

You can find Ramos and his art at the ZAAP Gallery, located at 625 Main St in Zanesville, from 5 to 8 PM this Friday for the First Friday Art Walk where he’ll also be giving free art supplies to local children who stop by.

His art will remain on display at ZAAP, Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 PM throughout the month of December.

The Busey-Dietz award will also be presented Friday night at 7 PM at the gallery.
