ZANESVILLE, Ohio – AT&T made a generous donation Wednesday afternoon to Zane State College’s QuickStart Program.

The QuickStart Program helps high school students who have concerns about enrolling in college. According to college President, Dr. Chad Brown QuickStart is a free 8-week course that has been offered by the school since the 1980s.

“I think AT&T learned about this through the educational service. They like this collaborative work and they thought this is the kind of thing they would like to support. So we’re pleased by the gift and honored to have them here today,” said Dr. Brown.

AT&T’s check for $5,000 will go towards purchasing tablets for students and paying for transpiration from Zanesville High School to the college. BJ Smith, the Director of External Affairs for AT&T, said that donating to education is very important to their company.

“Zane State College’s QuickStart Program aligns very well with the goals of AT&T’s Aspire Program. And that program looks to support programs that help high school students and encourages them to graduate, first of all, and then go to higher education,” said Smith.
