Zanesville Civic League host tailgate party
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville Civic League Community Center hosted a tailgate party for the big rivalry game Saturday.
The civic center opened its doors for the community. Residents were able come together to root for the buckeyes but most importantly watch Michigan lose.
“This is just an opportunity for the community to come down (and) support their team,” Civic League, Assistant Director, Adonis Brooks said. “Even if (you don’t support) Ohio State or Michigan, (this is) just a way to come down, relax, and be in a different atmosphere. This is a family filled environment. We encourage families to come down and check us out.”
The Ohio State and University of Michigan’s rival dates back to as early as 1918. The civic center’s party featured raffles, silent auction, and over all a good time.
“We do have gift baskets that we’re giving out,” Brooks said. “It’s just an opportunity for families and the community to come down and support Ohio State or Michigan. Hopefully they support the bucks though.”
The civic center want like to thank Koky’s Pizza who supplied the pizzas, Rent to Own who supplied the flat screen TVs, and Aarons who supplied the water for Saturday’s tailgate party.
