ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Monday’s district semi-final match at West Muskingum High School between Zanesville and Maysville was a tale of two halves.

The top seeded Blue Devils scored the game’s first goal halfway through the first half. It came on a corner kick that Leikyn Dalponte put in the back of the net. That was the only scoring in the first half.

However, ZHS came out of the break strong, scoring the game’s second goal a few minutes into the second half. They then exploded for six more and beat the Panthers 8-0.

The Blue Devils move on to the district championship game and they’ll play New Philadelphia Thursday at a location to be named. Zanesville played New Philadelphia back in August and beat them 1-0.

GIRLS TOURNAMENT SCOREBOARD:
