Zanesville holds signing day for 3 golfer

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Three Blue Devil golfers will be playing 18 on the college level next year.
Wednesday afternoon three Blue Devils signed their letters to compete at the college level. Nolan Kimberly and Sam Straker are both heading to Ada to golf for Ohio Northern. Their team mate Jace Ruggerio is going DII to complete at Ashland.
Ruggerio said playing in college has been a goal of his for a while.
“It was the greatest opportunity for me with all the facilities and [Ashaland’s] coach was really great to me. I think he’s going to help me getting better these next four years,” said Ruggerio.
It’s a talented trio of golfers that helped take the Zanesville program to new heights. In their time representing the Blue Devils they appeared in two state golf tournaments.
Ruggerio said getting to sign along side his other two team mates made Wednesday even better.
“It’s awesome. I wouldn’t of wanted to do it with any other guys. They’ll be in my heart forever and we’ll be best friends for the rest of our lives,” said Ruggerio.
All three thanked their family members and Coach Jim Rudloff for helping them get this far.
