Zanesville Jaycee’s 2018 C-Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A day for collecting goods and donations, C-Day is coming up sponsored by the Zanesville Jaycees Group.

The Zanesville Jaycees have sponsored the Salvation Army Collection Day for more than fifty years. Originally known as Canister Day, C-Day involves collecting goods for the holiday season. Jaycees members devote their time to pick up truckloads of donations to be dropped off at the Salvation Army.

“We’ll have Jaycees members out and about in the area. Generally within the Muskingum County area we will go outside that area if necessary for certain items. We’ll come, we’ll send someone to your house to pick those items up. Those items will be directly donated to the Salvation Army here in Zanesville,” said Zanesville Jaycees Member, Chad Hanson.

Members will take calls for donations, and write down the information and address. They will then be dispatched out into the area to pick up and drop off goods at the Salvation Army. Hanson says this creates an easier way for people to serve the community.

“It’s a good opportunity for people to give back to the community and they might not be able to do it by driving here, so that’s why we kind of take that stop out and assist people in the community to bring that stuff in,” he mentioned.

To make a donation call 740-452-5431 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd. The fundraiser will broadcast live on Z92 and AM1240.
