CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — The Zanesville Blue Devils and Meadowbrook Colts will face off for a third time this season as both teams took care of business on Wednesday night to advance to the District Finals.

The third-seeded Blue Devils faced the the 12-seed, Indian Creek, on Wednesday night and they did not waste any time showing who was the superior team. Zanesville knocked down each of their first three shots of the game– all three-pointers, two from Curry, and one from Myers– to open up an early 9-0 lead.

While the Blue Devils held just an 11-7 lead after the first quarter, their defense allowed only 16 points the rest of the way as they cruised to a 58-23 victory over the Redskins.

Cameron Brooks-Harris lead the Blue Devils with 20 points on the night. Aronde Myers finished with 12, and Cobe Curry and Clayton Foreman each added 11.

Meadowbrook, the 4-seed in the region had a bit of a tougher task on hand Wednesday night taking on sixth-seed Harrison Central. But Trey Singleton, the East District’s Division II co-player of the year, along with Brooks-Harris, lead the Colts to 56-41 victory over the Huskies, setting up a third meeting with the Blue Devils.

The Colts, who lost both of their regular season meetings with the ECOL Champion Blue Devils, will be hoping that the third time is a charm after the previous two meetings were decided by just a combined four points.

Saturday’s District Championship game will be played at the Anne C. Steele Center at Muskingum University. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m.
