Zanesville Yacht Club Helps Fight Breast Cancer

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; and the Zanesville Yacht Club is raising funds through a Girls Night Out event this evening.
Krysta Berkfield, with the Zanesville Yacht Club, says those in attendance will enjoy playing bingo with friends while donating to a worthy cause.
“We actually play bingo; which sounds really easy. But, the trick is that the bingo we play–we play 14 games and each sheet you’re actually playing 6 cards at once. So, simple but a little challenging. The girls seem to have a great time at it. Last year, we decided to up the event to an October event with the proceeds benefitting Muskingum County Breast Cancer Awareness.”
The Zanesville Yacht Club holds a similar event each Spring; and organizers decided to raise funds in October to help fight breast cancer locally.
“We’ve had several people in all of our lives touched by breast cancer in one form or another. And we just decided, there was such a demand after the first few Spring events, that we should do something to come together as a boat club that would benefit Muskingum County.”
The annual Zanesville Yacht Club Girls Night Out in October event typically raises about $1,000 for breast cancer awareness.
