Zanesville’s Martin signs to Alderson Broaddus
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville’s Caine Martin has joined the long list of Blue Devils to play football at the college level.
Thursday afternoon Martin signed his letter to play on scholarship at Division II Alderson Broaddus in West Virginia. Martin said he’s excited to join the Battlers football team as a running back.
“[Alderson Broaddus] texted me maybe two weeks after the season and told me that they’d really like to have me as a part of the team because he saw the athletic ability I had. That’s really what got me attached to AB,” said Martin.
Martin has battled through multiple injuries during his time as a Blue Devil. He said he’s grateful for the Zanesville community that has helped get him to this point.
“What I take from Zanesville is that the coaching staff has taught me that no matter what I go through, just keep going. I’ve had two surgeries that could of stopped me from pursuing my career. But that’s still not going to stop me from playing college ball,” said Martin.
Martin said he also considered attending Wilmington, Walsh, Muskingum, and Capital.
