ZHS Exploring Options for New Principal

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Gary Young had been the principal at Zanesville High School for the past two years and has officially announced his resignation Monday night.

Doug Baker, Superintendent at Zanesville City, said that they are hoping to fill the position as soon as possible.

“We are starting to get applicants for the job,” said Baker. “We will put together a committee and we will look through those candidates as well as looking at our own internal candidates that may be a possibility for that position.”

Baker said that there are some other different options to explore.

“Perhaps there is a retired administrator that would like to come back for a year to be the principal and then that would give us time to repost the position so we can find the proper applicant.”

Baker said that the bottom line is that they will make the decision that is best for the students.
