Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Trenas Weaver says the white car was traveling on Heckel Road, when the driver, 18-year-old Ryan Wingrove, failed to yield at a stop sign. Lancaster Police Lieutenant Scott Cox says Drayden Saylor went on to the street and entered the path of a van that was traveling in the 400 block of West Wheeling Street. It was driven by 65-year-old Herbert Smith.
Drayden was initially transported to Fairfield Medical Center and then taken by Medflight to Nationwide Children's Hospital.
