The Ohio Department of Transportation will be starting their Rock Slope Mitigation project next Monday, July 14.
The project is in response to vulnerable rock slopes that threaten to fall onto State Route 60 about a mile south of Duncan Falls. The project will last 60 days, ending on September 15. Ericka pfeifer, Public Information Officer for district 5 said why it is necessary to close the road.

Some area officials fear a plan by the Ohio Department of Transportation could have severe consequences for those that travel State Route 60 near Dresden.
A Jefferson Township Trustee said that when he found out ODOT was studying plans to remove the traffic light at State Route 60 and Raiders Road he began to write letters. He along with other trustees and county officials contacted ODOT and State Representatives urging them to keep the light.
The State Highway Patrol is on the scene of a fatal accident this morning. The patrol said a motorcycle and a concrete truck collided on State Route 60 at Airyview Drive just after 5a.m. One person was pronounced dead. The road will be closed until the scene can be cleared. No further details have been released at this time.

An injury accident involving a motorcycle sent two people to the hospital late Friday afternoon.
