The Harrison Township Fire Department Holds Annual Fireman’s Festival

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Harrison Township Fire Department’s Annual Fireman’s Festival is now underway.
The 3 day event started yesterday at the Philo Ball Park and Friday the fun kicks off at 6 p.m and will go on until 11 p.m Friday night. Assistant Fire Chief, Jarrod Blake said this festival has been a community tradition for over 50 years and having the support from the community helps to keep it alive.
"It means a whole lot. There’s somethings that we could not buy without the support from the community through the carnival. There is definitely a need for this to be around. There is a need for this community to support us," said Blake.
Blake said there will be games, food, rides and entertainment each night. Blake said there is no admission fee to go on the grounds you just pay for your food and rides.
"You can come down and walk around eat for free, just pay the cost of food. Tonight arm bands are $15 and tomorrow nights will also be $15 for arm bands. It’s unlimited rides as much as you can ride for $15 per kids," said Blake.
Blake said the proceeds from this event goes towards purchasing new fire-fighter gear.
