House of Grace Accepts Applications for Holiday Help for Teens

Holiday Help

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The holiday season is nearly upon us and
applications are being accepted at a local church for area teens in
need of Christmas presents this year. Pastor Joe Dunlap, of House of
Grace, says the church is preparing to kick-off its annual Holiday
Help for Teens program—which seeks to help parents in need purchase
gifts for their teens.

“This coming
week—well, starting tomorrow—it will be Wednesday, Thursday
sign-ups from 5 to 6:30 right here at the House of Grace. And then,
Saturday morning here it will take place from 10 AM to 12 noon. You
come here and sign your children up; and this is our fifth year of
doing teens for Christmas.”

House of Grace began
the program after being notified that most area programs focus on
children rather than teens.

“The Angel Tree
goes up to the age of 12. And then, we were approached by someone
asking us if we would take over from the age of 13 up; and I said ‘We
would love to do that’. And the community usually helps us—gets
together they support they give. It allows us to be able to go buy
gifts and be able to help the teenagers.”

After applications
for assistance have been reviewed, parents will be contacted and able
to pick-up unwrapped gifts before Christmas. For more information,
contact House of Grace located on Maysville Pike.
