ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Boy Scouts of America teach their scouts to do a “Good Turn” each day.

A Good Turn is a random act of kindness made to a stranger. This year the Boy Scouts of Zanesville are holding an award ceremony to give “Good Turn” awards to members of the community who do good.

“Week after week scouts raise their right hand, repeat the scout oath and law and are of courts committed to doing a good turn daily. We thought this was a good opportunity to do that in the community… On December 9th sponsors will be able to tune in and watch as the awards are presented to five different community servants.”, executive scout Ed Mulholland says.

The recipients will have a $250 donation made to any charity in their name. The Scouts are looking for donors for the event.

“Sponsors can get involved by going to the WHIZ and looking at the Boy Scouts, there’ll be a link there. They can go on and become either a couple sponsor or a corporate sponsor. At various levels… All the participants and sponsors will receive, delivered to their door about a week prior, a gourmet spaghetti dinner.”, Mulholland continued.

The link to become a sponsor is on WHIZ’s website homepage under the station promotions tag.
