Texas Roadhouse Shooting Update

The Zanesville Police Department is continuing to
investigate a weekend shooting at the Texas Roadhouse.

The victim, who has a concealed carry permit, accidentally
shot himself in the hand while in the restroom of the Zane Street restaurant.

 “Somebody has mishandled a firearm while inside that restaurant and that’s a concern to law enforcement and a reminder that if you’re going to carry concealed you need to know how to handle that firearm and do it in a safe manner,” said Chief Tony Coury, Zanesville Police Department.

The man suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken
to Genesis Hospital for treatment. Authorities are still determining if charges
will be filed in the incident.
