3 Escaped Inmates Now in Custody

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office reports that all three inmates who escaped from the county jail Monday morning are now back in custody.
Aaron Veyon was captured 9:45am Monday near Richards Road. The other two inmates, Cole Taylor and Roy Agin were placed under arrest after crashing a vehicle south of Stovertown just after 7:30am.
All three escaped the Muskingum County jail around Midnight. All three inmates were being house together on the 3rd floor of the jail. As the corrections officer was making nightly rounds one of the inmates jumped the officer and the other two joined in.
The inmates were able to wrestle the officer’s keys away and they then used a key to exit the 3rd floor dorm, enter the courthouse and then exit the courthouse through the old Main Street entrance doors, setting off the fire alarm.
The corrections officer did receive minor injuries and did receive medical treatment.
Taylor was being held for receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence. Agin was being held for falsification, escape and failure to appear. Agin’s current charge of escape stems from him not appearing.
Veyon was being held for weapons under disability, trafficking in drugs and 3 counts of felony drug possession.
