Escaped Inmate Pleads Guilty

A month after pleading guilty to multiple felonies related to drug trafficking, Aaron Veyon returned to court Monday to receive his sentence and accept responsibility for breaking out of the Muskingum County Jail last week.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office said Veyon pleaded guilty to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information containing one second-degree felony count of robbery and one second-degree felony count of escape.

Veyon was sentenced to nIne years after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a fentanyl related compound and possession of Suboxone with prior conviction.

He will serve an additional 15 years for overpowering a jail guard by force, stealing his keys and exiting through the courthouse attached to the jail. The sentences will be held consecutively (one after the other).

The remaining participants are also expected to plead to bills of information this week.
