Licking Co. Delegation Heading to Washington

A nine-person delegation of private and public officials from Licking County set off for our nation’s capitol Wednesday.
The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority will lead the trip as they meet with key members and staff of the Ohio Congressional Delegation, including 12th Congressional District Representative Troy Balderson, Representative Bill Johnson and Senators Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown.
The purpose is to discuss the status of military work at the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center. The 60-year legacy of deterrent workload and modernizations of the Air Force Primary Standards Laboratory are key issue points.
Officials from major employers at the Port Authority’s Aerospace Center campus—Boeing and MISTRAS Group—are attending along with local leaders, including City of Heath Mayor Mark Johns, Licking County Commissioner Duane Flowers, Licking County Chamber of Commerce President Jennifer McDonald, Grow Licking County Director Alexis Fitzsimmons, and Port Authority board member Sharad Thakkar, Finance Director Erin Grigsby, and CEO Rick Platt.
