New Year’s Resolutions?

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For many, the holidays offer a brief opportunity to reflect on the previous year and ponder how to improve things in the future.

Oftentimes those improvements manifest as new year’s resolutions and can range from diet and exercise to managing time to sharing with other people. Some area residents took time to reveal their new year’s resolutions as well as express some of their hopes and wishes for 2023.

“I’m going to walk more, maybe eat less although I like lunch with my friends,” Lynda King said.

Beth Scott added, “Just to be more healthy. To lose some weight. Obviously, I think that’s everybody’s. But we have some health issues, so just trying to make our lives healthier. Get some exercise in is one of our biggest goals.”

And then Angel King noted “Really, I kind of gave up the resolutions because it can be depressing if you don’t live up to them. So I’ve just decided to try to do the best I can everyday.”

As for hopes for 2023, healthiness, prosperity along with peace and kindness were at the front of everybody’s concerns.

“Yeah, no sickness, no inflation, houses selling because I’m a realtor.” Lynda said.

“I just would like for there to be peace across the world. You know I have a grandson that is serving in the military, it makes you a little nervous when you see some of the stuff that’s going on around the world,”Beth added.

Then Angel said, “I’m just hoping that people can come together a little bit more. Start being nicer to each other. We’re not here that long and I think the past two years have probably, I hope, shown that. And maybe we can be a better society.”

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to fade and the restrictions continue to be lifted, hopefully 2023 will bring a better and brighter opportunity for all to reach their goals.
