This Sunday at Central Trinity United Methodist Church, the Chorus and orchestra will be performing Handel’s “Messiah” at 6 PM.
Jim McLaughlin, the Assistant Director, said if you want to see the performance, you better get there early.
“A lot of people will be coming early because of our long tradition.” McLaughlin said. “ We think we have the longest tradition in Ohio of presenting Handel’s “Messiah”.”
Mclaughlin said you will be able to feel the excitement and buzz on Sunday.
If you are unable to make it to the performance in person, you can live stream it from Central Trinity’s Facebook Page.
Ann Lillie Briggs, the Music Director, called this ability a God Send.
“We started live streaming a few years ago during Covid.” Briggs said. “But it has been a true blessing to have people from Alaska, California and so on tell me they were watching us live. They’re watching and enjoying our performance and probably looking for their relatives because they couldn’t make a trip to Zanesville.”
The performance is free and open to the public, There will be a freewill offering taken to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s Southeastern Ohio Chapter.
