Annual Muskingum County Garden Symposium

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Muskingum Valley Garden Society hosted their 21st Annual Spring Fever Home Gardening Symposium today to celebrate beautification service in the community.
The event featured educators who came to speak about the topics of backyard landscape design, invasive plants, pollinators, urban gardens, native planting, cohabitating with wildlife and much more.
“It starts at 8 a.m. and you come in and register, you can also pre-register, and the speakers start around 9 a.m., so you can walk around and look through our silent auction and then again we have a full slot of speakers on and off all day and then the silent auction ends around two with the symposium, so they can walk away with some really awesome gardening supplies and artwork through the silent auction but we also have vendors that are here, we have a lot of local artists that are here,” said Volunteer Lisa Meadows.
The Muskingum Valley Garden Society has an important mission of enhancing the community through gardening and landscaping, and to promote horticultural education.
“I think that it is good to get outside, it is good to be part of a team, we have a wonderful membership here, you are also able to join and become a member, it is 20 dollars to become a member and I’d have to say that our members are absolutely amazing, I feel like it is part of a family and to be able to go downtown and see your work blooming is like no other,” said Meadows.
