Explore New Career Opportunities Through Mid-East Adult Education Programs

ZANESVILLE, OH – The school year may be under way, but Mid-East Career and Technology Centers have some program opportunities for adult students coming up in a few short months.
Michelle Georgecopoulos, the Adult Education Admissions & Student Services Coordinator, says beginning in January they will be offering their Heavy Equipment Operations program which takes about 5 weeks to complete.
She says students in that program get a lot of hands-on training working with forklifts, specific certifications, and even a Class A CDL.
But if you’re needing something short term, Mid-East has plenty of other options to meet your needs.
“We definitely offer a Certified Nursing Assistant Program, we offer phlebotomy, we’ll be having an EMT Program that will start back up in January.” Georgecopoulos said. “We also offer class B CDL, and a Class A unrestricted CDL.”
Georgecopoulos says more towards January they will be offering some Fire Service programs for those looking to become a volunteer, Fire 1, and Fire 2 transition.
She says there is financial aid available through the FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, but only for their full time programs.
Georgecopoulos encourages those who might need some extra assistance to see if there’s any available scholarships in your area.
“We have a customized training Coordinator, his name’s Tanner, who handles all interactions with businesses that are looking to really upscale their current employees and prepare others within the businesses to kind of take on some new roles and really enhance what they’re doing.” Georgecopoulos said.
