South Zanesville Prepare for Trick-or-Treaters!

2026 S Zanesville Trick Or Treat

S. ZANESVILLE, OH – Beware, the witches, ghouls, and goblins are set to hit the streets of South Zanesville this Friday.

Trick-or-Treat for the Village will take place on Friday, October 30th, from 5:30 until 7PM.

Chief of the South Zanesville Fire Department, Russ Taylor, says they know many kids are just going to be getting out of school and may not have time to eat before they head out in search of candy, so the first stop you’ll want to make is at the Fire Department.

“Here at the Fire Department we’re going to have 700 hotdogs, 700 bags of chips, and 700 bottles of water and a whole lot of candy for the kids to start out with.” Taylor said. “We just try to make sure that they have a meal, they’re going to rush out of school. We give them a hotdog, we had a couple kids last year wanting a couple extra hotdogs because they were hungry. It’s just our way to make sure kids get something to eat.”

For those who are wanting to get in on the Halloween fun, Taylor says to make sure your decorations are ready to go or at the very least, throw on your porch light to let the trick-or-treaters know where they can go.

He is also advising motorists to take it a little slower this Friday as the streets are going to be a bit busier than normal.

“Be safe, if you drive in a car, watch where you’re going.” Taylor said. “There will be kids running back and forth across the street, we’ll be out in force along with Law Enforcement here in the Village, trying to keep everybody safe. As far as I know, we’ve never had anybody hurt by a car, we want to keep it that way.”
