Commissioners Open Bids for Computers

Sheriff

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office met with the county commissioners today to open bids for Mobile Data Terminals that will be installed in area law enforcement vehicles.

The sheriff’s office is acting as the Fiscal Agent for Ohio Department of Homeland Security Region Eight and that committee will need to be notified of the bidding results before action will be taken.

Grant funding is available for the purchase of the ruggedized, mobile, laptop computers and the estimated cost was $120,500.

Technology is constantly evolving and requires law enforcement agencies to constantly update their equipment and procedure. The new equipment will allow for a more efficient transfer of information and communication.
