ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An international relief organization is lending a hand during the cleanup efforts in Muskingum and Perry Counties.

Samaritan’s Purse is an evangelical Christian organization with a mission to who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine. The non-profit has been helping with the removal of damaged furniture, drywall, downed trees, and more for those who were affected by the August storms and floods.

“We’ve had great support from the community. You know, we have volunteers that come from all over the country, and to see, you know, people helping people, neighbors helping neighbors. Those homeowners that we’ve actually helped have come back out to help other people that have gone through the same thing. So it’s a great community, great people,” Hanna said.

Rolling Plains Global Methodist Church is hosting Samaritan’s Purse volunteers while they are helping homeowners in the area. The church is located at 3350 Moxahala Park Road in Zanesville and is where you can go if you’d like to help.

“If people would like to volunteer, Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., we do have an orientation. So people can come out, it’s like 30 minutes. We’ll put you through that orientation, then we’ll get you out on teams and out serving,” Hanna said.

You can visit SamaritansPurse.org if you would like to make a monetary donation to the non-profit relief organization, and that’s where you can learn more about how to volunteer.

If you are in need of help from Samaritan’s Purse, you can call (833) 747-1234 Ext. 8.
