Zanesville Eagles Soar with a Donation to Christ’s Table

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville Fraternal Order of Eagles #302 recently made a donation to a local non-profit whose mission is feeding the hungry.

The Eagles donated $5,000 today to Christ’s Table to help out with their Homebound Delivery program.

Douglas Geyer, the Financial Secretary at the Eagles, said one of his officers told him about the need at Christ’s Table and they didn’t hesitate to help out.

“One of our other officers, Conductor Jeff Robinson, also works for Christ’s Table and he came to me saying that they needed containers to carry all of the food in,” Geyer said. “The price of those continuously go up, so that’s why we’re making a donation today for $5,000 to help cover the cost of these containers so they can deliver meals to people.”

Keely Warden, the Executive Director of Christ’s Table, said on average, the volunteer drivers at Christ’s Table will deliver up to 250 meals to their homebound participants every weekday.

She said with this donation from the Eagles, they will be stocked up with these homebound meal containers for about 2 months.

“It’s so great to know you have friends and partners up the hill that are willing to step up when you need the help,” Warden said. “The price of these containers has significantly increased this year that we had to start buying them in a different way and that was not budgeted last year when we set the budget. To know you have friends and partners up the hill that are always there to help you, it’s people helping people and that’s what we’re doing with these containers.”
