ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The highly anticipated Zanesville Chick-fil-A opened its doors Thursday morning and the customers have been non-stop.

The new location for the franchise brings around 100 jobs to the city and their famous chicken and waffle fries. The Zanesville City Police Department has been on the scene all day making sure traffic isn’t impacted by the massive customer turn-out for Chick-fil-A’s opening day.

“Turn out has been fantastic. We opened our doors at 6:30 this morning and we had a line in the drive-thru already, about 15 or 20 cars. There was some people that actually were here at our doorstep on the sidewalk this morning and really were waiting on us to open the doors and they were ready for us to serve them,” said Preston Tippett, the owner and operator of restaurant. “So, it was a great turn out from the get-go, right away and it’s continued to just be a continuous flow of people coming in and supporting us and really excited to have welcome us here to the area…”

Customers who show up during opening day in cow themed outfits or costumes were treated to a free entrée as part of the celebration off of Maple Avenue. Preston Tippett is the owner and operator of the local Chick-fil-A and says he’s excited about his and the restaurants future in Zanesville.

“Something I’m really looking forward too as an owner/operator of Chick-fil-A is bringing who we are as Chick-fil-A to the community and obviously selling great food here in the restaurant and being a part of that. And having people come to our restaurant but also being a part of the community. And so, as we continue to land our feet here and get settled in, we’re going to be finding ways to be able to give back and, you know, in different ways throughout Zanesville and Muskingum County,” Tippett said.

If you plan to visit the new Chick-fil-A location, a traffic pattern has been established to minimize impact on Maple Avenue. You can only exit and enter the parking lot through either Brandywine Boulevard or the Colony Drive mall entrance. You can click on the picture below to see an expanded view.
