Friends of New Concord Host Second Annual Community Day
NEW CONCORD, OH – Friends of New Concord is hosting the second annual New Concord Community Day on Saturday, August 31st, with a full day of free events for all ages.
The day starts with the Muskie Fun Run at 9 a.m., followed by a Vendor’s Village and Kids Corner from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be bingo, storytelling, a petting zoo, and plenty of food trucks including Chick-fil-A, supporting John Glenn High School Soccer.
“We have a rock-climbing wall for the kids, bungee jumping, a dunk tank, axe throwing trailer, and we have bingo for the children. Not to mention all the food trucks we have coming in. Smoke Therapy, Don Polo, Flying Naked Pig, we have Hot Dog Diggity, Kent’s Kones, we have a lot of food. It’s going to be a lot of fun.” Friends of New Concord Co-Founder, Kristin Centa said.
The festivities continue with a Party in the Park from 4 to 10 p.m., where there will be live music, games, a bonfire and for adults with a valid ID, a beer garden.
“It’s very exciting. I’m so happy to have something like this in New Concord. This is our second year, so we’re on a roll. The ability to work together with people to pull off something as massive as this is amazing. People in the community are volunteering as well as the sponsors who are so generous. We had such fantastic participation last year and got great compliments from residents, college students, and everybody who attended.” Mayor of New Concord, Jennifer Lyle said.
