Free Throw Tournament
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – Students at Starlight Schools competed in a free throw tournament over the weekend. The event, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, gave the students the opportunity to have fun and get some exercise – all while taking part in some friendly competition.

Hunters Allowed to Use Silencers
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A new law takes effect today relaxing some requirements for concealed carry gun permits in Ohio. The Columbus Dispatch reports the statute also allows hunters to use silencers under some conditions while hunt game.
Electronic Proof of Insurance
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – Ohioans are now able to show proof of insurance to police officers and state agencies with their electronic devices. A state law that goes into effect today allows drivers to electronically show proof of insurance to traffic violations bureaus, courts, bureaus of motor vehicles and law enforcement officers.
Gov. Kasich Executive Clemency
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – Records show Governor John Kasich used his executive clemency power in his first term less frequently than any other governor in the past three decades. Data reviewed by the Columbus Dispatch show the republican governor granted clemency in just 66 of 1,521 non-death penalty cases that he received and acted on from 2011 through 2014.
