Fall produce hits Farmer’s Market

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Autumn is upon us and that means changing produce at the Zanesville Farmer’s Market.
Pumpkins and ciders have made their yearly appearance at the county fairgrounds. Cassandra Siegrist is the co-owner of Siegrist Orchard and she said she is always excited to get to put out some of their fall produce.
“Finally after 90 and 100 degree days all summer it’s nice to have some cool down. People are starting to get into apples and ciders, finally,†said Siegrist.
The Zanesville Farmer’s Market will run through the rest of October. Siegrist said that their Coshocton County orchard has had a stand at the Farmer’s Market for over 25 years. Her favorite part is the socialization.
“I love the variety. Just getting to talk to people. People want to know about the different things about your operation. It’s just nice to get out. It’s kind of a social thing. People like to hear what you do and what kind of apple is the best and what kind of peaches we have in the summer,†said Siegrist.
There are four more Farmer’s Markets left this year. They run from 9 a.m. till noon at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.
